Criteria for Committees

You may apply to become a Committee Member if you meet the following criteria:

  1. Certified Professional:
    You must hold a valid WYA license (CYS, RSY, or AYS) or equivalent international yoga or wellness certification.
  2. Experience in the Field:
    Minimum of 3 years of teaching or professional experience in yoga, Ayurveda, or wellness-related fields.
  3. Commitment to WYA’s Mission:
    A strong desire to preserve yoga’s authenticity, support community growth, and contribute to international education standards.
  4. Active Participation:
    Willingness to attend monthly meetings, review applications, and support the development of WYA initiatives.
  5. Ethical & Professional Conduct:
    Must represent WYA values with integrity, inclusivity, and respect for global diversity.

WYA’s Committees Responsibilities

Committee members are the backbone of World Yoga Alliance’s standards, ensuring quality, ethics, and progress across all programs. Every month, each member is expected to:

  1. Attend the Monthly Committee Meeting
    Participate in scheduled online meetings to review updates, share insights, and make collective decisions.
  2. Review and Approve Applications
    Evaluate teacher and school registration requests to ensure they meet WYA’s international standards.
  3. Support Educational Development
    Contribute ideas, updates, or resources to enhance WYA’s training materials, standards, or workshops.
  4. Report Progress and Feedback
    Submit a short monthly report on committee activities, improvements, or community needs.
  5. Promote Integrity and Ethics
    Ensure all committee work aligns with WYA’s mission of authenticity, fairness, and professional excellence.

Criteria for Brand Ambassadors

You may apply to become a Brand Ambassador if you meet the following criteria:

  1. Are a Registered WYA Member:
    Hold an active teacher or school license under the World Yoga Alliance registry.
  2. Have a Passion for Outreach:
    Actively promote yoga, wellness, and mindfulness in your local or international community.
  3. Engage with Your Community:
    Organize or participate in events, workshops, or online activities that reflect WYA’s mission.
  4. Communicate Effectively:
    Comfortable with social media, networking, and sharing WYA news or values globally.
  5. Lead with Authenticity:
    Embody the principles of yoga—integrity, service, and compassion—in every interaction.

WYA’s Brand Ambassadors Responsibilities

Our brand ambassadors represent the heart and spirit of WYA around the world, promoting authentic yoga, wellness, and conscious living. Each ambassador is expected to:

  1. Engage Your Local Community
    Host or participate in at least one yoga or wellness event, workshop, or awareness activity each month.
  2. Promote WYA Online
    Share WYA’s mission, news, or educational content across personal and professional platforms to increase global visibility.
  3. Support Membership Growth
    Help new teachers, schools, or wellness professionals understand the benefits of joining WYA and guide them in registration.
  4. Provide Monthly Updates
    Send a short activity summary or report highlighting your monthly engagement, achievements, or challenges.
  5. Uphold WYA Values
    Represent WYA with authenticity, respect, and professionalism—embodying yoga’s true essence in all actions.

All Committees and Brand Ambassadors are required to submit their monthly activity reports through the WYA Member account or by email to contact@wyayoga.org before the 10th of each month.

Outstanding members and ambassadors will be featured on the WYA website and global newsletters to honor their contribution to yoga and wellness worldwide.
