About WYA

Yes. World Yoga Alliance (WYA) is a legally registered nonprofit organization under the Indian Government Trusts Act, 1882. We operate globally with officially recognized standards for yoga and wellness education, certification, and professional wellness licensing.

WYA emphasizes global unity, transparency, and continuous teacher and school support. We not only certify but also help members grow professionally through international exposure, online directories, and networking programs.

At WYA, we believe that yoga and wellness teachers and schools should not be burdened with unnecessary annual payments. Since 2021, we have introduced both Annual Membership and Lifetime Membership options — a flexible way to welcome and support more teachers and schools on their journey with us. If you are a yoga or wellness professional, you can freely choose the plan that best supports your path and manage your membership at your convenience.

We don’t view yoga as a business — we see it as a lifelong lifestyle and commitment.

School Registration Types

Choose the registration that aligns with your school’s vision.

At World Yoga Alliance (WYA), schools can register under two categories: RSY or CYS — each designed to support your growth and global recognition.

Registered Yoga School (RSY) World Yoga Alliance Registration

RSY license is ideal for schools that value independence while maintaining international credibility.

RSY License

Become a Registered Yoga School

RSY refers to schools that run their own teacher training programs following WYA standards.

  • Schools issue their own certificates to graduates.
  • Graduates can later register with WYA as Registered Yoga Teachers (RTY) using the RSY certificate.
  • Once approved, teachers receive their RTY certificate, global directory listing, and teacher benefits from WYA.
Certified Yoga School (CYS) World Yoga Alliance Certification

Becoming a CYS Member is ideal for schools seeking global visibility, professional credibility, and WYA-certified graduate recognition. This membership adds lasting value and trust to your school’s international reputation.

CYS License

Become a Certified Yoga School

CYS schools partner directly with WYA through the Exchange Yoga Experience Program (EYEP).

  • Graduates receive official WYA Certificates and become Certified Yoga Teachers (CYT) automatically.
  • Their names appear instantly in the WYA Global Directory with full international recognition and benefits.
